Financial counselling services

The Financial Counselling Service can provide free information, options and support to those who are experiencing financial difficulties.

Our financial counsellor can:

  • Help to organise a budget.
  • Explain what to do if you can’t pay bills, debts or fines.
  • Assist with working out payment arrangements with creditors.
  • Advise on Government assistance, which may be available.
  • Provide consumer advocacy.
  • Present options regarding bankruptcy.

Money Business program

Our workers can support Indigenous people and their families with money management.

We can help you to:

  • Work out your money goals
  • Create a budget
  • Put money aside for special occasions
  • Understand banking and finance
  • Use the Internet to manage your money
  • Sort your bills out

Emergency Relief

If you are a Geraldton resident and have an emergency that can be solved by a small payment, we may be able to assist you.

Emergency Relief can be used for:

  • Food
  • Accommodation
  • Utilities
  • Medicine
  • Other urgent needs

People who require regular emergency relief may be referred to the
Financial Counsellor for assistance.
